After I upgraded to 2.1 on my iPhone, I realise my gmail account isn't fetching every 15 minutes like before. I wake up in the morning and unlock my iPhone and see no new emails received until I actually go into the mail program and then it retrieves the new emails. Sometimes it'll fetch while on lock, sometimes it won't. I'm glad I'm not the only person experiencing this problem, and yes it does look like a 2.1 issue. 2.0 did not have this intermittent problem. Check out this forum. Hope Apple knows this is a firmware issue and will fix asap.
